Clean mountain air, the sounds of birdsong, the smells of yummy meals, chilling by the pool, taking a walk, these all add to our feeling of a home from home.

Excellent management, a great and efficient team, good Wi-Fi, a quiet location, wonderful, comfortable, and very clean rooms with views of the mountains, good services, and great amenities including the swimming pool, restaurant, bar, lounge, and gathering places.
Delicate attention and touches in our large room with a terrace and stunning view.
Nice and well-marked trekking paths maintained by the hotel (ranging from very easy to more difficult).
Several kinds of rooms and structures scattered throughout a vast and well-maintained domain.
Various activities available and the wonderful Drakensberg Boys' Choir is worth it!

MAGNIFICENT AND PERFECT
Everything is perfect in this hotel, very well managed, located in a magical place with superb views and beautiful hiking opportunities (easy) if desired.
Very pleasant and efficient staff, attentive manager towards his clients, absolutely excellent and very varied food with fresh and quality products. The restaurant, bar, lounge, and various relaxation areas are very beautiful and nicely arranged, as well as the pool and gardens.
A range of different types of rooms (spread across various structures) up to self-catering villas, all on a vast, well-maintained estate. (and even a mini farm and horses). Very clean and quiet.
Small touches in our large and lovely room and entrance with space and a kettle tray.
Maintained hiking trails, marked, and of varying difficulties with the possibility of hiking with a guide from the hotel (free).
We loved our 3-night stay and would have stayed longer. Our favorite (and the least expensive!) of the hotels with boarding that we experienced in the different valleys of the Drakensberg region (the region, and this hotel deserve a visit!).

From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warm hospitality. The service was consistently friendly and attentive, our room was spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed, and the food was excellent throughout our stay. The setting is simply breathtaking, with spectacular mountain views and plenty of activities to enjoy, whether you prefer relaxing or exploring the beautiful surroundings.

The only downside is the condition of the roads leading to the hotel. They are in poor condition, so I would strongly recommend travelling during daylight hours and driving slowly for safety.

Overall, we had a fantastic stay and thoroughly enjoyed every moment. It was a special experience to be back in the Drakensberg after so many years away, and Champagne Castle Hotel made it one to remember. We would happily return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing mountain getaway.
